This page summarizes how boatexam.io collects, uses, and stores personal information. The full legal policy is reviewed by counsel before launch and will be linked from the site footer.

What we collect

• Account information (email, name, jurisdiction).
• When you opt in on a free state practice page, your email address, selected state, and consent timestamp for updates about more free questions or a future full bank (which may be paid).
• Course progress and exam attempts.
• Payment metadata (handled by Stripe; we never store full card numbers).
• Standard request information (IP, user agent) used for security and analytics.

How we use it

• To deliver the course you enrolled in and track your progress.
• To issue your certificate of course completion.
• To improve content and surface relevant material. Aggregate practice start/completion and interest events by state are measured without sending quiz answers or email addresses to analytics.
• To send only the state-related updates requested through the optional practice-page checkbox. An interest signup does not create a purchase or official course enrollment.
• To prevent fraud and abuse.

Your rights

Residents of California (CCPA/CPRA), Canada (PIPEDA / Quebec Law 25), and the EU (GDPR) have specific rights to access, correct, and delete personal data. Email privacy@boatexam.io to exercise them.
